It's complicated.
Church has gotten really complicated. The reason I've decided to title this blog "simple-church" is that the Church should be simple. I mean, most evangelical churches have "ministries" for every age group and small groups for every interest. We seem to have lost the simplicity of the early church. What did they do? Devote themselves to the teachings of the Apostles and care for one another. That's it? Yep, that's it. We have allowed the non-Christian culture to influence our ecclesiology. We have allowed our desire to get "seekers" into our buildings to overwhelm our Biblical mandate. The church has become overly concerned about creating a "worship experience", whatever that is. The pursuit of worldliness and high attendance figures has interfered with the church preaching sound doctrine and creating true disciples.
